Serranía la Lindosa (San José del Guaviare)
Kayak through Laguna Negra. Walked by natural caverns and bridges

In San José del Guaviare there is no bus terminal but in a street near the Main Park there is the office of Fleet Macarena that every hour dispatches buses to Villavicencio.

For the ride of this day we took one of these buses and we got off 10km further on at a place called Flintstone Ranch. The idea was to contact a guide but since it was a cold season there was not one out there.

However the wife of the same suggested us and gave us directions to go, alone, to Laguna Negra where the idea was to row in it.

For this we walk for a while along a marked road and in a kind of hamlet we ask for the son of Doña Mirian who would rent us the kayak.

We take the kayak, we sail for a while by the pipe that has the same name of the lagoon or black and we arrive at it.

We turned it over and in the only place with solid ground, where there is a kind of gathering of fishermen we stopped to swim and give ourselves a good bath.

The time there was delicious but as the activity ended early, we returned to the main road. There we ask about the possibility of knowing other tourist sites in the region such as natural bridges and prairie caverns.

For this we suggested walking 500 meters along the road to Finca La Pradera and ask for Manuel D León who could take us.

This is what we did and from the hand of this character who was very knowledgeable about flora and fauna; besides being a net explorer; We made the circuit.

In its wake it showed us some of the flora of the region as the "cow" tree whose stem gives a kind of milk; the Cachimato tree used to make canoes; the cuyubí whose wood is used to make furniture and the caimaron which is a kind of wild grape.

During the journey we passed through Caño Retiro and then through the Puentes Naturales.

After an exotic paddling by Laguna Negra and a good walk through the Natural Bridges we return to the urban area of San José del Guaviare.
