This track documents an overnight canoe camping trip in a tandem canoe. The first day (Mile 00 - Mile 13) averaged nearly 4mph and was beautiful paddling. The second day track (mile 13 to Mile 21+) documents our abandonment of the Day 02 trip plans due to high winds. 20-30mph winds out of the south produced unfavorable conditions for any North/South portions of the River. This track records our location where we deemed the river ahead unsafe, turning and paddling upriver nearly 3/4 of a mile to a location where we were able to leave the water and carry boat and gear to a vehicle. Not a good day!

NOTE: Land along the Elkhorn River is privately owned. Our overnight camp location was approved with the appropriate landowner prior to our trip. Please respect private property along the waterways and seek the appropriate permissions when canoe camping.
