Itinerary description
Launch is at the East River launch area south side of US 41. Coming east from Naples it's 5 miles past Port of the Islands. The cutoff is poorly marked, but it's a quarter-mile past the rest area on the south side. There are a small launch fee and Port-o-Potty and limited parking away from the US-41 right of way, but you can park on the side of US-41.
Not for the faint of heart or weak of arms. The first half of the paddle to Wrong Way Lake is easy. Going through the "cut" in the green wall involves making a sharp turn that requires possibly getting out of the kayak and dragging for a very short distance but then it opens into a nice flooded marsh with open streams.
