2-day Canoe Trip

Mike & Sam - Canoe
Uncle Ben - Kayak

This was my first canoe-camping trip where I alone propelled and steered the canoe. My son Sam, who is partially disabled, kept lookout for rocks & snags from the bow and cast his hook upon the waters of the Current River. Uncle Ben came all the way from Central Texas to dive for treasure at the usual boat-tippers and strainers. Ivan, my friend from work, joined us with his 2 sons. A good time was had by all, but many felt that 25+ miles was just too far for a 2-day float.
This is the same exact route I floated a month prior in June, but this time we took a few detours, including the hike to Pulltite spring and cabin, making the distance a bit longer. The June float we spread out over 3 days, which was easier on the body.
