Itinerary description
From Sibenik to Kaprije, and kayaking around the isles. We encountered all kind of weather - motionless water and hardly bearable heat, heavy thunderstorms with lightning, strong winds and continuous rain for one and a half day (cold nothern deep), then beautiful weather again but heavy north western winds (5-6 beaufort) with storm blasts (7 beaufort).
A storm in the night broke a tent pole, and heavy increasing winds made kayaking dangerous. Therefor we decided to go back to Kaprije and take the ferry back to Sibenik.
Kayaks: 2 Klepper folding kayaks, Klepper Aerius Expedition One and Two. Both kayaks were absolute stable and reliable also in heavy weather conditions.
Tents: Hellsport Fjellheimen Camp (broke in storm) and Fjellräven Akka Dome 2 (this had excellent stability in storm).
Security / navigation: Garmin Etrex 20, ICOM M35 radio (was not used), McMurdo MAX-G Fastfind PLB, Solarpanel Flexcell 7 W with digibuddy for loading AA batteries and smartphone.
Windfinder SMS weather forecast, and Split sea weather forecast at http://dhmz.htnet.hr.
Internet was available at even remote places.
