Kayak/Trekking agreed tour to go see the Chutes Waber (Waber falls).
You start with Kayak to the left of the Starting Point (where you can rent Kayaks or Canoes), passing under the road bridge, until the end of Bassin 2 of Lac Wapizagonke, where you will surely have to descend a couple of times to cross the passage to Bassin 3 of the same lake, especially if half way you come across a beaver dam!! No trace of beavers, a pity.
Parentheses open. At this point the first battle with the mosquitoes begins, of a war that I already told you you have lost in advance, unless you bring repellent, facial micronet, astronaut suit and a nuclear bomb (which obviously was not my case, the 2 first yes, and I still ended up riddled). Close parentheses.
Going back to the route, the Bassin 3 is the longest of the two that we cover in Kayak, it has about 3 islands in the middle that you can skirt on either side, although it is recommended to go to the left so as not to miss the point entrance to the trek.
The trekking is light in difficulty, to be done in 2 hours calmly. Circular route, with a detour to reach the viewpoint of the Maurice National Park, YOU CANNOT MISS IT.
The worst of the tour, the mosquitoes. They force you to be in constant movement to avoid their bites, which go right through to your shirt. For the same reason I would not think of stopping to eat at the Waber Falls. However, at the viewpoint of the Park there are much fewer mosquitoes and it is a good place to have a snack.
The best, everything else. The views of the lakes, the waterfalls (IMPRESSIVE), the tranquility, the silence that surrounds the sounds of nature.
THE MOSQUITOES ARE WORTH A BATTLE, but bring good defenses.
