Itinerary description
Capri Paddlecraft Park is a Collier County owned and maintained facility with a 50-car parking lot, rest room facilities, picnic shelters and a protected gravel paddlecraft ramp. There's a $4.00 fee for launching - collected by a machine that dispenses time cards.
This trail starts out in McIlvane Bay and winds westward through an area of mangrove islands crisscrossed with bays and channels and tunnels. Have faith that all you really need to do is head south to Johnson's Bay if you think you're lost. It's a beautiful, serene paddle filled with birds and dolphins and mullet. Johnson's Bay has some sand bars that can be seen on Google Earth and present a problem at low tide. Pay attention to your GPS.
