I see that the trail took 27 hours. How much of that was moving vs. camping? If camping, where were your landfalls? How was the water level at the start?
Unfortunately, my original track is corrupted and the time stamp wasn't saved. I'm guessing that we probably spent 9 hours at camp. We got in at dusk and left early in the morning. You'll have to stealth camp as there are no legal or developed camping spots- another reason why we paddled until dusk. We camped in hammocks. No fire. Apparently, I didn't waypoint our actual campsite.
One other thing, we had dropped a car at the take-out spot- Lake Ridge Park. I recollect that the park staff wasn't happy that we left a vehicle overnight at the park. There was no signage saying overnight parking was forbidden.
Water levels were fine. I don't exactly what they were but Spring seems to be the optimal time. Time it so that its rained within a few days of the paddle.
Thanks for the details. II wonder if there are camps at the seven mile marks to divide it into three days. I’m also interested in how you crossed the damn
Correction: I looked at the web vs. app. The app limits the data. The web has your waypoints, including the three campsites. It also stops your track at Lake Ridge Park.
Now, I am much happier with the better details.
Are the water waypoints stops along the shore for refills or just breaks along your journey?
breaks
we only spent one night along the river.
