Itinerary description

We launched into Bayou Tigre at the old boat launch on Hwy 685 heading south out of town (Erath). It has a small parking area for a couple cars. It was well maintained and clear with cut gras and no trash. As it's a Tidal, small, and old boat launch in Vermilion parish. At the waters edge it's got some soft, methane infused, pre silt, yum, squeeze tween toes kinda stinky mud all cause it was low tide. Quickly into the water, with that mud behind us the sky shed all it's clouds and we were paddling in a perfect 63 degree air with a nare breeze.

Tide had begun to rise and we began the into the slightest current. Multiply bridges and low land encountered. Comments were made of how serious of a typical vermilion parish it all looked. Paddled into the Delcambre canal or rather Bayou Carlin and headed north with the wind to our backs and 1.5 kts current under our pants, paddle hardly got wet.

Temp was 78 degrees and wind 8 at pull out. There is a pay kiosk near the boat ramps where you can pay 24/7 for parking, of which there is plenty or launching with CC or cash.
