Itinerary description
Lafayette Paddle Club members and friends put in at low water crossing bridge on Tunica St. Muddy in some spots getting from road to river edge, but not a problem. Water level was fairly low, but with a good current until you got close to river. Lots of getting out of kayak and dragging across sand/mud bars, with some gravel. Water was good and clean and refreshing. Rating this trip as moderate due to the amount of dragging, and super soft sand and muddy/silty in some spots. Managed to sink up to our knees in some places. Had the bayou all to our selves other than a bald eagle and a turtle. Shade is short supply.
Super clean bayou with the least amount of trash i have ever seen in a public water body.
Couple of paddlers went up Woodruff Ditch a ways and said it was rather shady, so another trip for another day to further explore.
Phone got hot so it shut down all my apps, thus the straight line from two points until it cooled off and I restarted the tracking.
Next trip need to put in at Tunica Trace bridge and paddle down stream, when the water level is up.
