Itinerary description

Started at the pontoon bridge near Estherwood and traveled downstream to Mermentau, LA.
The west pontoon boat launch is made up of concrete blocks and has small gravel/shell sides/wings. No restroom or potable water facilities available.

The start around 10 am the winds were 10 mph and all tailwind! They however turned toward the south (head) as we approached the confluence of Bayou Nezpique (Tattooed Nose Bayou) and Plaquemine Brule' . This paddle was 11 miles long.

The bayou is 58 miles long and is navigable for 19 miles of its lower course.

Pontoon Bridge

It's so quite and peaceful. /s There is a loud grating sound when cars pass over the bridge. This is because the center part of the bridge is metal and the tires grate against it.

Centrifugal Water pump

Multi-suction design in centrifugal pump engineering is a double-suction pump. Probably used to pump water from the bayou into a farming canal.

The paddle gang

Was nice to meet new and share with other kayaking people. Quite a long paddle for a couple of the boats but they persevered.

Great paddle! So sorry we missed it. I believe pics #8 & #10 are ovens of some sort used to super heat something.

We missed you guys being here. We had three new people on this paddle and ya'lls accompaniment would have made it better than it was.

The limited info I could find was "Ferry Road Refinery is a Industrial chemicals wholesaler located at Ferry Rd, Egan, Louisiana 70531, US."
