Itinerary description

Highway 8 bridge west of Parkdale AR to just past Wilmot. Good access. I just left my truck on the side of the highway west of the bridge. It was still there three days later. The river was just over 21' at the Jones gauge. Much lower and you will have problems with blowdowns and other obstructions in the channel. High water allowed for bypass thru flooded timber on either side of the channel. We camped just past Overflow Lodge between the river and Lake Enterprise, beautiful campsite with and unfortunate amount of litter and ag debris. .

Camp - night 1

There are no public camp grounds along the river. Be respectful of private lands and leave no trace. The banks were steep and muddy in places and the first site we checked was covered up in poison ivy. We tried to find the most remote sites with reasonable access from the river. We did have a fire but kept it small and really made an effort to leave the site better than we found it.
