Itinerary description
Jones LA to Chemin-A-Haut Park. With a side trip up Chemin-A-Haut Creek to the Castle Tree. Great conclusion to a three day paddle. The length of the Bayou is lined with very large old Oak and Cypress. The side trip up the creek was an added bonus. The only down-side the high water is that the cavity of the Castle Tree was nearly under water. We spent the night in one of the cabins in the park. I rated the entire trip as moderate mostly due to the length and difficult bank conditions (steep and muddy) for most of the length. Shorter day trips would be easy to plan and low in technical difficulty. The major technical challenge is moderate current past downfall with some rakes and strainers.

What a trip! So envious. Robert didn't get to carry the decoy?
