Itinerary description
Several members of the LPC tagged along with Pack and Paddle on a community paddle of the Atchafalaya Basin.
Easy paddle launching from a great launch at Kern's Landing. Cost is $2.00 per boat. Launch comes with a portalet. Launch consists of a concrete ramp with grassy sloping bank to water's edge.
Plenty of motorboat activity, so parking is tight. Watch for boats as you paddle the channel.
Pretty much your typical Basin paddle through the Cypress trees. Not much wildlife sighted, but a good paddle nonetheless.
