Itinerary description
Sand Hill (Approximate Elevation: 16 ft), an ancient dune relic from the Pleistocene Era, is home to a rare rosemary scrub ecosystem and. one of the highest points in Collier County (26.0628, -81.7562) and easy to paddle when the wind and current are favorable. Today, the wind was high on the return trip, and we were on the edge of the tide cycle. Stan's drone videos from (26.0631, -81.7538) display the area, and Karin's video of the hand recovery method is fun to watch.
