Itinerary description
When you look at the pictures today’s tour was a rhapsody in blue. Pleasantly warm temperatures in the early morning. The low standing sun with the reflection of the sun on the mirror like water surface created a double glaring light, but I had only one pair of sunglasses.
I rounded the northern tip of Vassøy, followed the coastline before crossing over to Lindøy. Here I saw at least two porpoises surfacing a couple of times. They seemed quite relaxed. After passing Lindøy and Hellesøy I reached Kalvøy. With the sun in my back I enjoyed the quietness. The boathouses were still deserted but the parasols and deck chairs were still out, ready for another glorious summer day.
I took a turn into the shallow bay enclosed by Kalvøy. On my way back I passed the sound between Tyttebærholmen and Bukkholmen then Raudsteinskjæret before crossing to Vassøykalven and Vassøy.
