Itinerary description
Light wind from north-northwest - that meant going north early in the morning. The temperature had fallen to 7 degrees Celsius, many layers of clothing were still required. Due to the temperature low clouds were shifting all the time, an ever changing scenery. I passed through the islands and went to Klovningen lighthouse before crossing the fjord to Austre Åmøy. Here everybody was still inside. I passed the rebuilt pier and the rock with the bronze age rock carvings - not visible from the kayak of course, but one can appreciate the place, perfect for settlement. I rounded Sildaskjeret before turning back via Storholmen.
With the wind in the back the crossing to Sandøy was quick. Through Langøysund I went to Roaldsøy and passed through the tunnel back into Dragabergvika and home.

Serene, you’d like to freeze such moments - at least there is a picture to keep.

Approaching Austre Åmøy. Nice, south-facing houses. This place has been inhabitated for the last 4000 years.
