I've been to the rocky mountains, paradise of ice climbing, specifically in the area of Will Gadd .
We have made medium type ways:
Chantilly
Lake Louise Waterfall
Cascade Mountain
Grotto Canyon
Snow Line
Professor
Weeping
Haffner Canyon
Rogans Gully
Again the Weeping because it was not the right day for the Polar Circus
Moonlight
Bear spirit
The tracks generally include the approach and the climbing, measuring the time and distance of all the activity, in such a way that it can be used to organize with the schedule. On some occasion I forgot to save when I got to the car and part of the road made by it was engraved.
The routes are on snow and that means that each year they can change slightly. The formed footprint must be sought.
It is convenient to have a guide. We use the ones in photos 1 and 2. They have them in the mountain shops there.
I copy photo no. 3 with interesting telephones and avalanche page. You can also check with the Banff rangers, some of whom practice ice climbing.
You have to rent a 4x4 vehicle and walk very carefully because the asphalt is frozen and there are many runway exits.
To sleep there are (besides hotels) hostels. We were in a house but I have good references of the Alpine Club in Canmore, with sauna and good facilities at a moderate price. Banff is more touristy.
The food in the supermarket is double the price in Spain.
You have to pay the park permit to drive with the car.
