Itinerary description
Refugi De Rebost - Prats
Refugi de Robost has a great paddock at the top of the hill, with lots of grass.
We started by backtracking down the mountain on the gravel track that we came up the night before. We then went through an electric gate to join the cows and began our ascent.
Although I’ve categorized this under “horseback riding”, I hardly rode at all.
This trail is extremely challenging for anyone who attempts it, human or horse. Be sure you have a loyal and sure-footed mount, or you are putting both of yourselves in danger.
I would go so far as to say you should probably not bring a horse up here.
Anyways, it was incredible to see the world from 2000 meters. Looking at those views, I would have died happy if me or my horse went tumbling off the rocks.
There is no water (as of June 15) until you are almost at the bottom of the descent on the other side. We used all 3L on the ascent and we’re still dehydrated by the time we found the stream below.
Once we were off the mountain track, it was fairly simple to find Hipica Prats, who hosted us for the night.
Tough trail!
