Itinerary description
Muddy trails can be slippery so do not go on this ride after a rain. Nice large parking area.
The Crane Creak Ride is within the Portneuf Wildlife Management Area "WMA." The Idaho Department of Fish and Game manages thirty-two WMA as a way to protect wildlife habitat for hunting, fishing and other public enjoyment. The ride map shows where the ride starts, the probable route up to National Forrest, along the boundry trail (open to ATV on May 15) and then down again. It is about eight miles long and includes 2,500 ft of climbing. Fatigue factor (1pt/3miles and 1pt/1000ft climbing) = 5 or intermediate physical challenge for horse and rider. There are small creek crossing and rocks on the Boundry Trail.
