Zla Kolata 2534 m (Top of Montenegro) [en | es]

Esta ruta empieza en la pequeña aldea de Vusanje. La carretera para llegar aunque algo estrecha está en buen estado. Buscamos algún sitio entre las estrechas calles donde poder dejar el coche y empezar la ruta.
Los primeros dos kilometros son por un camino de tierra y piedras que si queremos podemos hacer con el coche y reducir la ruta en 4 kilometros. He marcado el fin de este camino con el waypoint "End of gravel road". Como se puede ver en la foto no hay mucho espacio para aparcar el coche pero si no es ahí podemos dejarlo unos metros mas abajo.

Esta ruta tiene una buena parte en común con el Tour de los Balcanes con lo que nos cruzaremos con bastante gente que está haciendo esta travesía de varios días.

La senda está bien señalizada con marcas rojas y blancas pero conviene no despistarnos porque a veces hay varias sendas y nos podemos ir por la equivocada.

El camino es sencillo y la pendiente cómoda hasta que llegamos a zona corta con más rocas. Luego de nuevo encontramos senda con hierba hasta que llegamos a la base de la montaña donde tenemos delante la impresionante pared de roca.
Hasta aquí ha sido solo aproximación y desgaste, aquí es donde empieza la parte más exigente. Empezamos a subir por rocas con ojo para no despistarnos de las marcas que a veces parece que están escondidas.
A veces piensas que no es posible seguir sin escalar pero siempre hay un camino que va subiendo sin ser difícil. En algún momento usamos las manos para ayudarnos pero no es escalar ni mucho menos ni es difícil.
Por fin llegamos al collado de inicio de cresta. A partir de aquí es más sencillo y hay una senda con hierba y algo de roca. Subimos por detrás hasta que llegamos a la cima de Zla Kolata donde hay hierba de nuevo y podemos tumbarnos y disfrutar de nuestro merecido descanso y de unas fantásticas vistas.

En el track se puede ver que hay un momento que se bifurca, a la subida seguro que seguimos el camino de la izquierda (mirando hacia arriba) porque el otro camino apenas se ve. En cambio a la bajada, si nos quedan ganas de aventura podemos tomarlo. Es igual de fácil que el otro pero no está tan bien marcado. A veces pensamos que estamos en mitad de ninguna parte porque está poco transitado y parece desaparecer en algunos momentos. Es solo un tramo pequeño que en seguida se une con el camino principal

Como curiosidad, hay uno de los waypoints que marca una cueva. Es una cueva de la que sale un aire muy frío. Recomiendo ir con precaución porque es muy oscura y nada mas entrar hay un hueco grande bastante profundo.

En resumen, una fantástica ruta con magnificas vistas desde la cima.

This route starts in the little village of Vusanje. The road to get here although narrow, is sealed and in good condition. Once here we look for a spot among the narrow streets to leave the car so we can start our adventure.
The first two kilometers we follow a gravel (and stones) road so if we prefer we could drive up with the car and this way we shorten the full track in 4 kilometers. There is a waypoint marking this "End of gravel road". As you can see in the picture there is no much space to leave the cars. In case there are other cars you can always park yours a few meters below.

This route has a big part in common with the Tour of The Balcans therefore we will keep crossing people doing that hike of several days.

The track is well marked with white and red marks but keep an eye on the GPS because sometimes there are several tracks and we could go on the wrong one.

We find our way up easy and not too steep until we get to a short zone with more rocks. After that we find again grass until we get to the bottom of the mountain where we can see the big stone wall.
From here is where we find the steepest part of the route. We start walking up among the rocks being careful not to get out of our way. It's not easy to spot always the marks. Sometimes we feel they are hidden.
When you look up sometimes you may think there is no way you can continue without climbing but magically there is always an easy way to keep going up. A few times you will need to use your hands but it is always a very easy climb and never dangerous.

Finally we get to a col where the final ridge starts. From here things get easier and the grass is back. We follow this track until we get to the summit of Zla Kolata where there is plenty of grass and we can take a good rest while enjoying the great views.

In the track you can see that there is a point where there are two ways to go. On the way up you will take the one on the left (looking uphill) without even noticing it since the other one is kind of hidden, but on your way down you either take it by mistake or on purpose if you are still thirsty of more adventure. This short detour is as easy as the main one, but the marks sometimes seem to completely disappear. Also since not many people walk on this one sometimes it feels like there is no way to go. If we follow the GPS in just a few minutes we will be joining the main trail again.

As a curiosity, one of the waypoints marks a cave. From this cave really cold wind comes out. Be careful when entering since it is quite dark and there is a big hole that seems to be deep and if you fall you may not be able to get out.

In summary, a really enjoyable hike with great view from the top.
