Itinerary description
Another experimental hike with a group in a lesser known mountain but with beautiful views from its peaks. It starts after the Čemerno pass, right off the gravel road to Kalinovik. We went along the edge of a forest first to eventually get back on that same road which wasn't really necessary in my opinion, we could have walked along it all the way. One of interesting things on that road is that you can visit springs of the river Neretva. We visited only the 1st one which was slightly off our way so we had to walk back and take the left turn on another gravel road going to Gornja Bodežišta, and then left again up the forest next to a building that I believe has to do with water supply. Once out of the forest the views open and the trail goes along the ridge. The views from the highest peak Živanj reach all the way to Klinje lake in the south and surrounding mountains Zelengora, Volujak, Lebršnik.. I could have sit there for ages. The walk down was ok but once you get into the forest there was a terrible steep dusty road (never have I walked through 3-5cm of dust!) , it seemed cleared by tractors that would probably be impossible to walk in wet weather. It was sheer bliss getting out of the forest and back on the gravel road heading right towards the starting point where the cars were parked.
