Itinerary description
Very picturesque environment.
Fast "hiked" in net moving time of about 3 hours. 2hrs going up 1 hour running down. Fully runnable.
Easy trail even for families, only complication is the length and ascent.
The actual distance is 20 kilometres with 1,141 metres of ascent and descent (measured with the more accurate Schweizmobil app).
The track starts in Zermatt at 1600 metres and it stops at the 2700 metre area so logically there have to be at least 1,100 metres of ascent.
The GPS failed a little on the way up on the forested area. There were a few switchbacks and the GPS interpreted those as a straight line (thus understating distance).
