Itinerary description
About 62 km, 4 days backpacking. Zaros - Rouvas Gorge - Duo Prinoi - Nida - north slopes of Mt Ida - Aravanes - Eleftherna - bus stop on Perama Rd. A beautiful gorge, then a mix of dirt road, trail and route finding, ending with a missed turn-off to the Arcadi Monastery and a northern descent from Aravanes highlands instead! Food needs to be carried except for lunch at the Nida Taverna. No trail at all on the north slopes of Mt Ida but can't get lost, it's just very, very rocky and slow (and beautiful!).
