Itinerary description
Another beautiful easy loop between Zaarour and Mtein, aroud "wadi el Balou3". The way down to Mtein is mainly on LMT section 15. The sceneries are magnificent with rocks, trees and mountains in background. Just before reaching "Mrouj-Aintoura" road which you have to cross if you are continuing to Mtein, i went up through another amazing pine forest where you will find footpaths. The trail goes up and you will be walking on the hills west to the valley. Many dirt roads and interserctions will lead you to the starting point. Kindly have a small bag with you while hiking and pick up some rubbish on your way. If each one of us removes some of the trash, we will make our common home Nature cleaner and healthier. Keep hiking!

Beautiful loop in Zaarour. No technical difficulties. This recorded trail is very informative and very well done, we followed it on our way :)

The trail is nice and easy to follow. You will definitely enjoy the dry air in Zaarour. There is a bit of excavation taking place but you can automatically redirect yourself. The last section is a slope (uphill)

Went April 2023. Lovely trail. A bit confusing when leaving the agricultural road midway. Path is not clear and LMT markings have faded or disappeared. As such, be sure to follow app route to avoid diverting too much. After the “beautiful trees” waypoint, there is a new road. (Road is not shown on Google maps yet.) We walked on the asphalt road for a bit, which are switchbacks downhill generally following direction of route. But then asphalt road dead ends, so we had to backtrack and find our way back to the hiking path (which is again not very clear). Experienced hikers should figure out correct route with help of app. The beginning 1/3 (or so) and ending 1/3 (or so) is very clear following dirt or asphalt roads. Just the middle 1/3 is a bit complex requiring close monitoring of app (if not familiar with the area). Overall lovely hike and would go again
