Itinerary description
This hike is difficult due to the steepness and difficult terrain/trail conditions on the west and east ends of the loop. This hike follows the west part of http://www.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/view.do?id=917823 takes a better trail up to the summit area (the west side of the loop). The trail down from the summit on the east loop is very difficult to follow and at points you are just walking down a rock wash. Probably better to go up the west side of the loop and down the east side.
The trailhead is at Qidaogou Village. AT one point it looks like they had a park here called Yunmeng Mountain Scenic Park. It is now in ruins but from the amount of garbage we saw quite a few people are hiking up along the route we took. We parked at the locked gait (see waypoint) and climbed over the gate, but you can follow the track at this link http://www.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/view.do?id=917823 to avoid haing to climb the locked gate.
When you get near the top you are entering the Yunmeng Mountain National Park. We went on a weekday so there was no one to keep us from entering or to collect the entrance fee, but on a weekend you may encounter access issues.
