Itinerary description
This 6.1km loop trail (not 7.1Km as stated) includes 2 short spurs, to the top of Mt Peron and a ridge lookout.
The trail head can be accessed from the Cockleshell Gully picnic area, off Cockleshell Gully Road (inside Lesueur National Park) by 2WD. Near the car park area there is a picnic table and dry public toilet.
The trail is narrow (single line most of the time) with few trail markers. Surface is mostly gravel and rock with cliff edges and steep sections with almost no shaded areas. Ticks and flies are prevalent!
Avoid summer (Dec-Apr) due to extremely hot conditions.
Wildflowers season from Aug-Nov.
Prefer cooler months (May-Oct) to avoid heat stress.
NO WATER AVAILABLE
