Itinerary description
I start this hike at the eastern entrance to Ysternia village, on the main island road that connects Chora (Tinos’s main city) to Panormos.
I walk on the tarmac towards the village of Kardiani, until I reach its western entrance.
I proceed through the village’s main alley, passing by the spring of Kardiani, till I reach the start of the downhill trail to Kardiani Bay (or Giannaki Bay).
I pass by an abandoned windill and the Catholic church of Agios Nikolaos, and further downhill I meet the dual church of Agios Nektarios and Evangelismos.
I stopped for lunch at a local fish restaurant which is open seasonally. I then continue uphill on the same path finishing my hike at Kardiani’s main square, elevated above Kardiani Bay, to watch the sunset.
Mobile broadband connectivity was available nearly throughout this hike.
