Itinerary description
1h:49m:31s | 5.9 km
Starting at the parking lot (Letak Kreta) along Jl. Kebun Bunga, follow the road which passes through Youth Park until reaching a second parking lot and the trail begins on your right. Passing the Flora Garden then keeping to the left along a broken concrete path the trail winds its way uphill. Keeping left at the concrete path junction Trail 39 and 45 enters into secondary forest and ascends rapidly. There is a stream crossing along the trail heading towards Trail 39, 45, and Batu Gantung Junction. At the junction, keep left onto Trail 45 and then continue on until reaching yet another junction. Trail 45 is to the right on a concrete path with Batu Gantung Trail heads downhill towards the rifle range and cemetery. Continue ascending until sighting a warning sign which states "WALK, DON'T RUN". The reason becomes clear as the trail cuts through a number of farm buildings and there are a couple of big dogs guarding the place but they were not aggressive and didn't even bark - "WALK". Just continue on through the property keeping a bit to the left. The trail continues to ascend up a very steep incline. There are actually two routes which leads back to Trail 39. Take the left route which climbs towards Rest Station 39. Continue through the rest area and you will eventually reach Moongate Trail. Take a right at the junction and continue down the trail to Rest Station 5. Pass through the rest station and the trail leads down a long set of steps until finally reaching Jl. Kebun Bunga. There are many branching trails off of Moongate Trail and those are mapped and shown collectively on openstreetmap.org.
