ヨシダ日本語学院の箱根旅行 Hakone Field Trip with Yoshida Institute
This route is the Yoshida High School End of Year Trip (ヨシダ日本語学院).
The school prepares an extracurricular activity every 3 months and this time we went by bus to Hakone. Hakone is located about 85 km from Tokyo (about 3 hours by bus). It's a well-known tourist destination, and some of Japan's most famous photos are taken here, both at Lake Ashi and at Hakone Shrine (with torii inside the lake).
The main activity is boarding a kind of pirate ship that travels around Lake Ashinoko between Togendai and Hakone-Machi.
The next destination is Owakudani, to get closer to the volcanic area that was created in the last eruption of Mount Hakone more than 3,000 years ago. Here you can see columns of steam rising from the subsoil. On sunny days you can see Fuji perfectly.
The last stop we made was at the Hakone Open Air Museum of Art. It has collections of works of art made by Picasso among others, with more than a thousand sculptures and works of art scattered throughout the huge garden.
