We start the excursion from the Yosemite Valley Parking, the path is perfectly signposted and the track would not be necessary.
I recommend you follow it, however, just in case, like us, you cannot resist going down to the waterfall for the beauty of knowing at what point to get off the track. As you will see when you lean out, there is no path and you will need your arms both to go down and to go up, so it would not be necessary to follow our path step by step, look for the most comfortable one at the moment you pass.
After that stop in a beautiful corner of Yosemite where practically nobody goes, we resume the ascent towards the Overview to enjoy the views of all of Yosemite. The unevenness is significant, so we took another break at the viewpoint and resumed the path to Yosemite Point. When we crossed the river and saw the pools, we couldn't resist and took a bath. As it was getting late, we proceeded to go down instead of continuing to Yosemite Point, because with the temperature it was and after so many days of excursions, we preferred to enjoy a while resting in the river instead of reaching the last viewpoint. However, if you want to get there, there would be no problem because the path is perfectly indicated.
