Itinerary description
Carreg Goch
A DOE practice navigation day in the western fans starting from Dan yr Ogof caves. Good parking area at the start point. Half of the route is on good paths, and the other was off the beaten way looking for sump holes, small lakes, a crashed bomber memorial, and other points of interest. An interesting part of the world, quite barren but with nice views.
Parking: Good size gravel car park just off the entrance road to Dan yr Ogof.
Route: Rolling western fans country with half the route on & off distinct paths. Nice features to head to and find.
Statistics: 12km with 439m of height gain done in seven hours.
