Itinerary description
The drive up from the checkpoint/gate, 12km, is as much fun as the walk. At the time of my visit (Jan 23) an unpaved track that any vehicle should be able to do until maybe the last 300m or so.
The hike is relatively easy with a clear path, waymarked with orange and with yellow markers.
Some great views across the valleys with a dam and a small farming community at the end.
There is very little shade along the route, therefore I would recommend as a winter season route and camping is permissable of you wished.
Walking footwear with good grip and ankle support and I used 1 walking pole (as usual)
Wildlife included some birdlife & lizards, not much else.
