Itinerary description
I have been to Youth peak back in the summer from the Western slope, yet this was a chance to ascend from the east-northeast. It’s classified as 1B as the icecap and glacial have been slowly melting over the years.
Nonetheless, I started from Shymbulak, which is supposed to be a required point of start in this race, and got to the assemble point in 2:20 hrs, whereas around 100-150 ppl stayed overnight just a few hundred meters away from it. Guess they were looking for an early start ))
I started with everyone else and got to the point where they were handing in the gear in the first group. However, a friend of mine wanted to have a cuppa, so lost around 20-30 minutes. In this type of events is a huge amount of time. Nevertheless, made it to the top quite easy, just wish I have jumped right away without waiting.
