Itinerary description
The Yellow Aster Butte trail is a steady climb from the old mine road to the alpine zone, The scenary is spectacular with views of the surrounding peaks. We did not do the final ascent but stopped when the Border Peaks and the campsite below Tomyhoi Peak came into view.

Easy to follow
Scenery
Difficult
Its steep for the first 1/2 mile, and the last 1/2 mile if you go to the top. But its worth it. Beautiful views once you get above the tree line.
