Itinerary description
Yebongsan and Ungilsan
This hike takes you around the three peaks of Gyeonggi Province (경기도) near Seoul.
Difficulty
It is a moderate hike. Finding a way is no problem if you download this wikiloc trail on your phone/watch. There are not many signs on the trail before you reach Ungilsan. It is a less developed trail compared with many other trails around Seoul which makes it more exciting. You will climb the first slope without man-made steps as you usually see in Korea. There is no boulder hopping, climbing, abseiling, exposed walking on edges, etc. There is a bit of scrambling while climbing Ungilsan.
Alternative
You can also do it in the reverse direction.
Public transportation
The hike is very accessible. It starts near Paldang Station (팔당역) and ends near Ungilsan Station (운길산역). After leaving Paldang station take left and go under the bridge.
Gear
It significantly depends on the season. For the end of October, you need:
1) High-cut hiking shoes
2) 1.5 liters of water, electrolytes
3) fleece jacket
4) windbreaker
5) headlamp in case you finish after sunset (you never know)
