Itinerary description
If you are after a short walk, close to the Sunny Coast, check out the newly opened Yandina Wetlands. This flat, 1.7km (return) trail through reclaimed canefarm land, enables you to take a walk with nature. Along the way you get some good views not only of the wetlands but of Mt Ninderry and Mt Coolum. At the end of the trail there is a bird viewing hide which will give you a chance to spot some of the 100-plus species of wildlife calling the wetland home. Its not the most exciting walk but there are a lot of trees being planted in the area and it will improve with time. On your return, its worth turning into Store Rd and heading over to the Maroochy River to check out the old Tramlift Bridge.
