Itinerary description
A fully marked trail starting on the top of Jebel Yanas. This one has a bit of everything - elevation, views, village and of course a fully marked trail. The one way 4km trail is fairly easy and loads of amazing views.
To access the trailhead one need to drive on top of Yanas mountain ideally in a 4x4 or an SUV with good clearance. The parking and turning space is VERY TIGHT AND LIMITED perhaps only for 1 -2 cars hence car pooling from the bottom may be ideal. 10 of us drove in 2 4x4s to avoid tight spaces and turning.
About the trail: there is an option to return the same way i.e. 4kms back to where you parked.
We did some exploration and instead of returning same way, we took a loop and went in to the wadi. This involves loads of bouldering while descending. Needs good pair of shoes and NOT FOR BEGINNERS. Once reaching the plateau, we climbed straight up (a bit steep) to the car parking.
I've updated this to 'moderate' just for this reason. If you wish to return same way, it an easy trail all the way and can be done by everyone. Just bear in mind the trail is fully exposed with no shade at any point.
Also one must be wary about local inhabitants living in the village. Do not disturb the local families or take their pictures unless they invite or permit you to do so.
