Itinerary description
Y Domen Fawr
A nice, rare sunny day out hiking two 100-metre prominent peaks in and around the Rhymney Valley, namely Y Domen Fawr (504m) and Mynydd Bedwellte (486m). Two very pleasant undulating walks looking at a variety of things, including some cute Longhorn cows and fair play, there were some nice views to be had there today. Alas, it was spoiled by the amount of fly tipping in both areas; in fact, it was sad to see such large-scale, fragrant environmental abuse, such a shame.
Parking: Large car at start point at Aneurin Bevan Memorial Stones.
Route: Road, easy hill trail back on the same route.
Statistics: 9.5km with 193m of ascent done in 2hrs 5mins.
