Itinerary description
It’s a linear trail which requires the return back but I decided to do it in circular way to make the ascent smoother.
The trail is nice and easy to follow, you will hardly meet anyone. Pleasant but quite demanding in efforts as well.
There is a sacred spring along the way where you can fill up your water supplies.
I was lucky to see two mouflons not far from the trail and to hear them a couple of more times crashing through the bushes.
TERRAIN: the official part reminds of a horseshoe - quite long descent, then ascent. All the way is a narrow forest path. The extent is a tarmac road and a motorway.
SEASON: the official part is at least 70% in shade thus quite pleasant walk even in summer but please mind the ascents which are quite demanding in efforts.
During rainy season there are seasonal rivers crossing the trail, so be prepared for some wet crossing.
The non official part, especially the main asphalt road, is mostly exposed to the sun.
SIGNS: plenty of signs along the way but some of them vanished, enough of resting places. Very civilized trail.
KIDS: Ok for kids from 5-6 yo, just assess the ability to cope with 500+ meters elevation.
The beginning of the trail overlaps with the bigger circular Discovery trail (https://www.wikiloc.com/hiking-trails/the-discovery-trail-route-5-part-moutoullas-gerakies-78559078 ), so at a certain point you may decide which way to go or just diverse the route.
