Itinerary description

This at times panoramic walk takes you to the top of the Grosser Hörselberg(486m.),from where you have a magnificent view from the Wartburg to the Grosser Inselsberg and everything in between.

Especially the stretch between the Venushöhle and the Hörselberghaus is breathtaking.

From the Hörselberghaus we took the green/white signposted track that leads you along an at times narrow and lovely track across the comb of the ridge to the Kleiner Hörselberg(420m.) This is a nice part of the walk but in summer the views are impeded by the leaves of the trees.

Shortly before arriving at the Kleiner Hörselberg the views become unobstructed again.

After another great viewpoint, with a bench, there is a steep descent after which we followed an old railway track to a dirt road that took us to the D4 and back again to the parking places.
