This hike is in the upper canyon area of Cañada de la Virgen. It traverses one of the minor arms of the canyon and crosses a large plateau to a cliff edge overlooking the main canyon. The return route passes a couple of small ponds where you have a good chance of spotting water fowl. There is one fence to cross on the way out.
