Itinerary description
Nice walk north of Woudenberg, along Grebbelinie and Valleikanaal, and through woodlands and a former railwaytrack. The vast Geerestein estate offers tree-lined lanes, oaklanes and a look at a number of gorgeous farmsteads and Swiss-type chalets while crossing a variety of landscapes. Especially the trail along Valleikanaal was impressive with its extensive and picturesque views to the left and the right.
This walk seemed to coincide with a new "klompenpad" called Termatenpad, as we saw the purple signs turn up regularly. However, on the klompenpaden website there was no mention of this path (yet?).
All in all, an enjoyable hike with the "grand canal" as part of the "grande finale".
One thing we were less enthusiastic about was the traffic noise on the N 226 which you cross twice and partly follow (along the bicycle track).
