Itinerary description
Dim pahar is a tourist attraction situates near the Alikadam -Thanchi road. But most of the travelers who go there do not get to the main peak of Dim pahar. Every body thinks a shade just before the 23 km point of the road is the main Dim Pahar peak. At the 23 km point there is a Murong shop just beside the road. From there towards north, you have to take a trekking trail to go up to the main peak by foot which would take 30-45 minutes. From the main peak the view is awesome. Modok range of south-eastern Bandarban is clearly visible from this point. Highest peak of the Chimbuk range, ''Kirstaung'' and 2nd highest ''Chokkinala'' are also visible from this summit. Dim pahar's highest elevation is 2,889 ft (+/-3ft) from the sea level. Dim pahar is also known as ''Woa dui hung'' to Murong tribal people (In bengali it means '' মুরগীর ঝুঁটি পাহাড়''). According to Marma tribal language it is also called as ''Kraw Taung", which also bears the same meaning as what the Murong name of the peak does. There is a Murong village named ''Yowng rung karbari para'' at the west face, just bellow the peak of Dim pahar.

Can you please tell me the significance of Dim Pahar? Some tribal peoples say that during the greatest flood if the whole land area of Bangladesh goes under water, the Dim Pahar won't.
We didn't hear anything such like this. Dim pahar is a peak of Chimbuk range. From Thanchi its looks like a egg so it is called Dim pahar. The Alikadam -Thanchi road also runs above the side of this peak. Thats all. Nothing significance else.
Dim pahar's highest elevation is 2,890ft( +/-).There are many higher peak in that region than Dim pahar. So the claim of that tribal people u mentioned is very absured and unlogical. By the way, what do u mean by greatest flood? Flood like prophet Nuh(as)'s time?
