Itinerary description
The first two sections of the Wilson Trail on the Hong Kong island. My trail starts at Stanley Plaza, so it can help you to reach the actual Wilson Trail from the Stanley village. There may better ways to do it, but I don't know them. My trail finishes at the Quarry Bay MTR station as I chose to go via the Sir Cecil's Ride path and through the Braemer Hill rather than on the Wilson Trail to the end. However, I wasn't necessarily a good idea as there were not good lookouts anyway. So you may want to continue on the Wilson Trail all the way to the city.
Hiking these two sections of the Wilson Trail at once requires some effort, the first 10 km comprises of a sequence of steep ascends and descends, with barely any flat sections. About 2/3 of the trail is paved. It's not great for joints, but is helpful on these steep sections, especially considering the wet Hong Kong climate.
If you're lucky with the weather, you'll see some great views of HK, including from the Jardine's Lookout. However, I wasn't lucky with the weather so I cannot attach any great views.
ps. I made one mistake at about kilometer 9 and went in the direction of Mt. Butler, which made no sense in the weather I experienced.
