Itinerary description

(English below)

Third day in the Wicklow Way. Without much difficulty, though eventually the descent from Mullacor was a little too heavy for our knees .

We left Oldbridge by road ,then off it to start climbing towards Brusher Gate (where there is a shelter) and Paddock Hill. Crossed Glenmacnass river and turned to Laragh along a wide boreen for supplies (just over 2 extra km).

Back in the Wicklow Way, we went through Brockagh forest to reach Glendalough, the great attraction of the day, with its interesting medieval ruins of the monastic city founded by St. Kevin .

We started to climb again among trees, with beautiful views over the two lakes to reach the "Lugduff Gap", the beautiful saddle between the Mullacor and Lugduff mountains . From here it's all down (passing by another shelter) to Glenmalure, with magnificent views over Lugnaquilla, the highest peak of the Wiclow Mountains, to our right.

Overnight at the Coolalingo B & B.
