Itinerary description
We camped at Grandview campgound at around 8,500' the night prior. Rising at 6am we drove the hour from camp to the 12,000' trailhead gate. There were people there waking up and starting up the trail. It looks like a descend place to camp, if don't mind the cold weather without much or any wind protection. At the trailhead there was an awesome view of the surrounding ranges and restrooms before we started the hike.
After 2mi of hiking we arrived at the Barcroft station and then quarter of a mile after the station we hit the Barcroft Observatory Dome.
For the next three miles we slowly made our way to 13,000'. At that point we started our last climb to the summit. In the end it was a beautiful and cool day, with just enough clouds to make our pictures interesting.
