Itinerary description

The Whetstone Ridge Trail is the longest trail in the Pedlar District of George Washington National Forest not connected to the Appalachian Trail. It starts out somewhat level before traversing a seemingly endless series of ups and downs. The trail then takes a sharp turn, following a new path that is not found on most maps. Recommended direction: start at the Whetstone Ridge Visitor Center Parking Area on the Blue Ridge Parkway. trail is also used by mountain bikers.
