Itinerary description
If you like being on top of the world, but don’t enjoy the steep climb that is usually required to get to high overlooks, then this is the hike for you! The hardest part of this hike is the short scramble over moss covered rock to get to Westholme Overlook. From there, you can enjoy splendid views of Mt. Prevost, Mt. Sicker and Coronation Mtn. Directly below the bluff, looking over towards Eve's Park (another of our hikes) is a green pastured farm.
The trail follows the northern shore of Crofton Lake and goes around Breen Lake with it's beaver lodges. The route is a mix of forest covered trails and old logging roads open to the sky. The open areas along the logging roads have some beautiful stands of arbutus trees. In the wet season, the lower sections of the trail can be muddy.
Retreads Hiking Club gives this hike an AVA rating of 2B.
