In the middle of May 2023, I did this solo route. They were 8 days and about 160 km.
I loved the route, at the time everything was very green, the Scots are charming, a lot of people on the route, you must book in advance, because there is not much accommodation.
And in the end to be able to climb to the highest peak in Great Britain, the route is very well signposted, if you control it you can buy food every day and you also have the typical pubs where you can relax. Why in the month of May? According to recommendations, mosquitoes are still very annoying from June onwards, they are not on the road, it is the month with the least amount of rain in Scotland, accommodation is cheaper and there are fewer people than in summer.
Highly recommended route, both for the landscape, as for the towns and for the route.

Hola!
Saludos,
